Introduction to Wheel Throwing: 8-Week Beginner Course
Ready to try the potter’s wheel? Our beginner-friendly course guides you through the fundamentals of wheel throwing, from wedging and centering to shaping, trimming, and glazing. Over 8 weeks, you’ll gain the skills and confidence to create beautiful pottery.
What to Bring:
- Wear old clothes: Pottery can get messy!
- Old towel
- Closed-toe shoes: For safety in the studio.
- A positive attitude: Be ready to learn and have fun!
Included in the course fee: a 25 lb bag of clay, a firing allotment for this clay, and all necessary tools.

Monoprint transfers on clay
In this 8-week course we will dive into the expressive art of monoprinting. Starting with slab transfers, you’ll learn how to design and layer imagery using underglaze and slip on newsprint. From there, we will progress to applying monoprints to pottery and sculptural forms, allowing us to explore the various applications of this technique. By the end of this course students will incorporate monoprints into their own pieces, using unique designs to complement their personal style and studio practice.

Focus on refining your skills, mastering challenging shapes, and developing your unique artistic voice.
Prerequisite: Prior wheel throwing experience is required.
